I have given in to defeat, which doesn’t happen very often. After trying for several weeks to create a Maria Muir.com logo that can be used for all social media sites, its time to hand it over to others who’s artistic flair goes beyond Paint Shop Pro.
So I have decided to run a competition, giving you the chance to dazzle me with a unique logo design. You don’t have to be a qualified web designer or hold a degree in art, we all know there are many artistic and very highly skilled artists out there who can create original masterpieces without having a piece of paper to prove it.
So What Am I Looking For?
A very simple clean cut design but one that will stand out and hold its own. Preferred font colour would be blue, but at this stage anything goes really. That’s it, no fuss
Is There A Prize?
Well yes there is!
You can win £50.00 ($100 USD), a permanent link to your blog/site or if you have a logo it will be displayed in the sidebar and a special post on this blog.
The competition will run until the 25th July, at that time I will be in Wales visiting Eleanor Edwards who is running a charity event for Give A Brick and who is also a fellow blogger, and she can help decide the winner.
The Winner will then be announced on Monday 26th July.

Ooooh, sounds fab Maria
And I get to help you pick? Wow. Honoured. And excited.
I’m keeping a wee eye on Heather’s place while she’s in Canada and seeing as she’s an arty type blog, hers might be a good way to get some more people designing you something fabulous. I’ll stick a post up there pointing here. I’m confident Heather won’t mind

Hi Maria,
I can relate to throwing in the towel, as I’ve just hired a company to design an ecover for me. I wanted it to do it myself, but not only do I not have the right software to do it, but I just don’t have the time. It’s often better to just pay someone, or in your case, run a contest to get the task off your desk and still get it done.
Can’t wait to see the new logo. Hmmm…. that’s something that I need, too. It will be interesting to see what people come up with.
Good luck!

and that’s why I just put it out to the general public. I have no idea how much it would cost.
I thought running a contest would be best, although I’m not sure the prize money would actually cover the cost for a pro designer
Yes looking forward to see what you end up with. May need to get some tips later on too.. Rt or ya

……..and I can give you plenty of tips, just email

Hi Maria,
I’m in the processing of redesigning my logo (the current really sucks) so I created one for you as well. I’ve emailed you a sample.
Hope you like it. I call it 2M2pt0.
Have a good one.
