Now that we have established that there are some top female bloggers who dont get the recognition that they deserve, how can we resolve this and be taken seriously and the guys accept that fact we can be just as good at blogging and make Sunday dinner?
If like me, you are a busy Mom, trying to write posts in between the daily chores of running a household and a full time job can become all time consuming and always playing catch up. Some are lucky enough that blogging is their full/part time job. Being a parent is a full time job in itself and so we have to find a balance and a strategy that works.
Now I am not dismissing the fact that men who hold down day jobs and blog or run an online business dont have it tough, (I’m trying to write this post without coming across as sexist) but women do have more to deal with everyday and we work twice as hard to achieve our dreams and ambitions.
But I think that we are finally making some progress and making our presence felt and being taken seriously and are capable of giving out blogging tips, writing ebooks, or whatever it is you blog about. Admittedly, not all female bloggers aspire to be the next big blogging success and are perfectly happy blogging away about this, that and the other and couldn’t give two hoots about recognition and aiming to be the best. But for those who do (myself included) work endlessly and consistantly and have a lot more to say other than talking about todays chores, recipes and the latest fashion, are often dismissed and not taken very seriously as bloggers.
I love blogging, it is my escape from the every day chores and mundane routine that we often find ourselves in. I use blogging as a distraction and to help me focus when things get too much and get bogged down in the daily grind. I dont have my own ebook or affiliate program, I dont do giveaways and freebies but I hope to change this in time, but I think I can still have a successful blog and work at being recognised without trying to sell you something and promise you the world.
From time to time I can produce something worth reading and brighten your day
I dont claim to know everything or how to do everything and sometimes I get it wrong, but hey, so do pro bloggers although some would never admit to it. I also have to say at this point that there are many male bloggers who credit their female counterpart and recognise that us women are more than capable of being successful and have given credit where credit is due and if it wasn’t for the encouragement I received from certain male bloggers I could have very easily given up. So thank you, you know who you are.
And as for blogging, lipstick and killer heels, its more like blogging, chapstick and slippers, with hair tied back, dishcloth in one hand and a vacum in the other darting back and forth to complete a post, so not sexy blogger.
I will now leave you with a question: How many female pro bloggers do you know?
Until the next time, be happy, and keep on blogging.

Hi Maria
Nope, can’t think of any female pro bloggers off the top of my head but I have only just stepped into the whole blogging arena since Jan so getting to know who’s who. Will let you know if I come across any.
You mention balance in your post – I think part of the problem for many women is that they are so focussed on achieving balance between all their roles that they end up peddling the hamster wheel so damn hard they aren’t able to stop and make changes or sit back and smell the flowers. I think it is time to stop focussing on balance and focus on designing life round the most important things first and the less important things fitting around. Results in much higher levels of fulfillment and reduces feelings of guilt.
Hi Ali,
Well I for one have decided to down the cleaning tools and the shopping list and stop worrying about every speckle of dust and consentrate on the things I enjoy doing at least for three days of the week. We have so much we need to juggle and everything becomes a dreaded chore. So maybe it is time to sit back and smell the flowers.

Hey Maria,
I know a few, In fact they made it into my top 20 most influential blogs post I did ages ago http://www.theinfopreneur.net/2009/11/theinfopreneurs-top-20-most-influential-blogs/
Lisa is probably one of the biggest proper probloggers out there.
Plus you have the likes of Kelly Diels who is well on her way to 6 figures this year.
Maria I have no don’t you’re unique and ready to kill it, have you thought about maybe doing audio or video but just an audio clip if you don’t actually want to appear on screen.
You’re talented for sure, we just need to make sure people realise it !
If you need any help just give me a shout

Hi James,
Thanks for the links and the compliment, somehow missed your post on influential blogs.
I have thought about my own video…….I’m still thinking about it
I cant even get a photograph taken never mind a video. I know its the way to go and I do have one or two reasons not to……..but I’m always late in getting into things so it may happen one day.
Look out for my interview with Eleanor on Friday at Give A Brick, never been interviewed before so I hope it goes well.
Will do for sure!

Hi Maria,
Good thing for James’ link because I was trying to come up with some female pro bloggers and was stuck. There a few, but maybe they don’t promote themselves as much as the rah-rah, chest-thumping guys, do ?
You bring up some good points in your article. I’m looking forward to seeing your video with El.

Oh didn’t do a video, I’m not brave enough for that yet. Just some questions and answers, so I hope it turns out ok.
Thanks Karen.

I know a few and all are mothers, many with small kids and babies even. Women are great at multitasking; men are too focused when they set their minds to it. We HAVE TO multitask. Since I also earn from blogging, that makes me a problogger but I’m way down the list. I’m serious but take things at a time, focused on the task for the DAY, prioritizing what needs to be done right now without making any serious damage (house chores) to other tasks that also need my attention, weighing which ones can wait and which ones can’t.

We dont really have a choice to multi task, men just get up and go out to work and dont give a second thought about anything else…….
